Investment Strategies

Core Growth

Inspired by Warren Buffett's approach to investing, the Focused Core 30 Strategy is positioned with high-quality large and mid-cap growth names with balance sheet flexibility to pay a dividend and/or reinvest in the future.

Core Growth and Income

The Focused Blue Chip Strategy is structured to provide long-term growth and income. We view this as an additional core strategy and alternative to the Focused Core 30 Strategy.

Income

Developed to provide above-average dividend income, the Focused Dividend 10 Strategy considers and prioritizes balance sheet quality, cash flow generation, earnings sustainability and capital allocation. This can be combined with Focused Core 30 Strategy or Focused Blue Chip Strategy to reduce risk and volatility.

Aggressive Growth

As the name implies, the Focused Emerging Trends Strategy focuses on companies with strong and/or accelerating revenue growth. This strategy carries the potential for greater growth and volatility, so a long-term perspective is required.

Taxable and Tax Exempt Fixed Income

A bond strategy comprised of U.S. Treasury securities, high-quality corporate bonds (rated Baa/BBB or higher), hybrid securities, preferred securities and/or bond exchange traded funds (ETFs). Portfolio is primarily determined by our Investment Committee’s interest rate forecast and bonds are often laddered based on income and cash-flow needs.

Enhanced Index Strategies

An actively managed exchange traded fund (ETF) strategy rooted in strategic asset allocation with tactical positioning that seeks to protect against or take advantage of near-term market conditions or opportunities. Portfolios are tailored to the client’s risk profile and investment goals.

How We Do It

Quality has been one of our core tenets since our inception in 1987. By investing solely in industry-leading companies, we can ignore the market's daily noise and invest with confidence. Our proactive and opportunistic equity approach allows us to take advantage of market volatility and buy stock in America's best companies at a percentage of their intrinsic value.
